Title: Pombom - Restoration Druid
Post by: Pombom on July 10, 2018, 08:22:16 PM
Character name:
Pombom

Battletag:
Pombom#2233

Introduction - Let us get to know you! (Please include Gender, Age and Country)
I'm Dennis 18 years old and I live in Germany. I'm currently still a student and will (hopefully) get my A-Levels next year. On weekends I work in a small gas station in my even smaller hometown and WoW is my dedicated passion. I really enjoy the "Teamspirit"-aspect of the game and achieving raidkills or other achievements really makes the deal for me.

Stats - Please explain your stats priority and explain why you are using these.
My Stats:
8.2k Crit - 25%
6.5k Haste - 17%
4.5k Versa - 9.5% | 4.75%
15.2k Mastery - 27.5%

Restoration Druid doesn't have a concrete Stat priority. However mine currently looks like this:
Haste>Crit>Mastery>>Versa
With restoration druid it really comes down to what feels comfortable for you. Normally the "correct" priority would be:
Mastery>Crit=Haste>Versa
But since I already have a high amount fo Mastery I try to focus on Haste and Crit more. Yet for BfA I will be following this stat priority again until I can experiment with what suits me best. While of course being uptodate when new builds/playstyles require other stats.

Haste: It increases the tick rate of my Hots and reduces my casttimes and the global cooldown so my heals are coming in more frequently. Haste is also important when it comes to preparing my Raidcooldown. Yet it's important to not "overcap" on Haste since you can easily fall into a state where you spam cast, more casts mean a worse mana household and druids don't have too much playroom when it comes to mana.
Crit: Very basic, it increases the chance to double the effects of my Heals to increase output.
Versa: Gives me a flat throughput increase and an incoming damage reduction.
Mastery: Enhances my Heals on a target for each Hot thats active on the target. This makes Druid excellent when it comes to healing a limited group of players over a sustained period or healing the entire raid for a smaller period of time. You can drop one or two Hots on everyone and Tranquility will also benefit from the Mastery, this means that a target with two Hots active receives massively more Heal than a target with no Hots on it.

In the end stat priority comes down to what the encounter needs and what the player feels comfortable with.

Talents - Please explain your talent choices for a single target fight or an add controlled fight. And why you choose these talents.
T15: Cenarion Ward because it is the only form of effective spothealing for a druid, furthermore it counts as another HoT further increasing the strength of my Hots on the target.
T30: Displacer Beast, it's the best movement choice in this tier and "Renewal" would in theory be a good option, however druids don't really need the extra survivability.
T45: Depends on the Fight, if targets are spread out (e.g. Aggramar) I sometimes prefer to take "Balance Affinity" for the extra range, the more default choice would be "Guardian Affinity" for the flat damage reduction.
T60: Since this is a pure Utility/CC row I take whatever is needed e.g. Mass Roots for Coven or Typhoon for Aggramar.
T75: Default Choice would be Cultivation because it applies yet another Hot on your target when it dropps below 60% wihch increases the effectivenes of your mastery even further. However Incarnation can be a useful talent when the raid needs high amounts of Heal in a prolonged situation OR the fight only has very few parts where the raid is taking heavy damage (Aggramar Intermission or Coven Heal-Adds are excellent examples for that)
T90: Germination would be the default choice again because of an extra Hot to increase your Mastery. Spring Blossoms had very limited use in Legion so far, since it requires the raid to be stacked at all times while having a close to 100% uptime on Efflorescence. (Varimathras or Maiden in ToS are good examples for that) Inner Peace is theoretically very useful if the encounter requires a lot of Raid Cooldowns to sustain through periods of damage, I personally never found it to be competitive against Germination or Spring Blossoms.
T100: Flourish is the best talent in this tier BY FAR, extending your Hots by 6 seconds gives you the chance to prepare your raidcooldown much more efficiently AND saves you some mana, combined with the legendary shoulders you can reach a Rejuvenation length of 35 seconds or more. Stonebark is a very niche talent and was so far only used in M+. Moment of Clarity gives you more mana sustain however you still have to cast Regrowth which weakens your high movement by a lot and the Regrowth Hot is just not as good as a Rejuvenation.

Resources - Please tell us sources you follow to keep up to date with your class:
I mostly follow the representative Discord channel and take part in discussions to really learn the full depths of my class/spec. Checking logs and seeing what other people do and how they play has been a succesful method for me as well. Wowhead provides me with the information regarding PTR or Beta changes.

Raiding history:
I only started playing WoW in the late stages of WoD and already started raiding on mythic difficulty with ToV. I ended ToS with a World ~510 Rank and got my first Cutting Edge Achievement. Argus was my second Cutting Edge with a World ~480 Rank (I'm not counting Helya since I didn't kill it with a noteable World Rank)

Guild history and reason for leaving them:
Zeitsturm-Blackhand (namechange to EternalRival 1 or 2 weeks before it got disbanded) Wasn't really my choice, I actually quite liked the guild and got along with everyone pretty well, however the guild lead did some "weird" things which ultimately led to half the guild leaving. (TL;DR guild lead made a random person officer who then wanted to take over the guild)
Desire-Antonidas The guildleading Team consisted of 3 people, 1 Girl (the "official" Guild Lead), her boyfriend and one random guy. Result was that the random guy never had the chance to participate on very important decisions because it was 2v1. This resulted in some very weird and somewhat random things going on, like kicking the raidlead/shotcaller without any explanation. Since I wanted to know what happened I tried to talk with them and only got rejected and got told to leave the guild if I'm not pleased with how things are going, so me and a few guildmates did exactly that. I just didn't have the feeling of belonging to something bigger or playing for the guild instead of myself. However this is just a very small part on why I finally left the guild which I'm happy to explain to you on Voice.

Expectations - What do you expect from us and what can we expect from you:
I expect a dedicated guild with a strong and competent lead with a reasonable Loot System and a nice community to play with outside of raids.
You can expect a 100% dedicated player with a nearly perfect Attendance who always tries to improve and reach new standards to not only improve myself but the guild. I always prepare for new bosses or raids by watching Kill videos/Streams, reading guides or seeing through logs or even the Dungeon Journal. Extra tasks on Bosses have never been a problem to me. (Marking safespots on KJ, offtanking the Add on Desolate Host or healing the Portals on Portal Keeper)
Furthermore I'm very good when it comes to adapting new strategies/tactics or new specs/playstyles. (Basically rerolled twice within AtbT. Moonkin -> Tank -> Heal. I only rerolled to Tank because our maintank at that time left the guild which resulted in me tanking complete AtbT Progress. I then rerolled to Heal about two months after our first kill.

Freetext - Anything else you wish to add? Your last chance to impress us!
There is not much to add except two kill videos, unfortunately both are not from a Healing perspective, but I guess it shows how I'm playing.

I'm a very flexible player and enjoy keeping one or two alts mythic ready in case a specific class is required or my main is "useless" for an encounter. At first I'm quite a shy guy and it will take some time to find my place in the guild, however if I find my spot I'm very social and helpful.
